If you’ve never tasted samosas, you’re in for a treat. Samosas are a popular finger food originating in the Indian subcontinent. They are stuffed with savoury fillings like spiced potatoes, onions and peas. The samosa dough is made of refined wheat or semolina flour and deep-fried until it’s crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Samosa dips vary with taste, but tamarind or mint chutney is a very popular choice for vegetarians. In a meal, serve samosas alongside fresh salads and your favourite rice – fried or steamed.
